Alpha Update


Much has changed since the First Playable build, but here are the most important bits:

  • Added first draft of Level 1
  • Refactored player movement to use AddForce instead of accessing velocity directly
  • Added ice physics
  • Refactored player's collider(s) so that player no longer gets stuck on floors
  • Massively overhauled enemy bullet behavior to no longer require a reference to specific enemy objects
  • Added basic buzzsaw hazards
  • Added diagonal aiming
  • Added a movement locking function to prevent running off cliffs while aiming
  • Changed powerup from a minor, barely-noticeable weapon cooldown decrease to a temporary invulnerability shield
    • Shield also temporarily changes the color of the player's sprite, just to make it extra noticeable
  • Added graceful Quit Game functionality (no more Alt+F4!)
  • Added Game Over and Victory panels
  • Added Pause and Unpause functionality
  • Refactored enemy behavior so that enemies now turn around if they detect that they are near other enemies
